A Nakheel development from the early 2000s — circular road plan, mid-rise apartment towers, rents low enough to draw young professionals, nurses, teachers, and hospitality workers priced out of the Marina. Twenty minutes from Downtown, no metro, no beach.
It has no landmark and no particular character, but it has a Carrefour, more brunch spots per square kilometre than anywhere outside JBR, and a JVC parents' Facebook group with 40,000 members that is more active than most local newspapers. The circular road layout produces a reliable community pastime: arguing about how to give directions.
