Historically, someone on a 30 or 90-day visit visa would hop to Oman, Georgia, or the nearest destination to exit and re-enter and reset the clock. The UAE has tightened this significantly — repeated visa runs are flagged and can result in denial at the border. Still practiced, but with diminishing success.
