The Arabic word for mosque, literally 'place of prostration'. Dubai has thousands; you're rarely out of range of one, and certainly not out of range of the call to prayer that rises from them five times a day.

Visitors are welcome at certain mosques (the Jumeirah Mosque runs open tours); elsewhere, non-Muslims generally don't enter during prayer. Dress modestly, remove shoes, and mind the prayer times.
