Christians are 9% of the total population of the United Arab Emirates, according to a ministry report. The number of Christians in the United Arab Emirates is estimated at about 500 thousand. Catholics constitute the majority of Christians who come up to 100 thousand. The UAE Government gave permission in mid-nineties for the building of Churches.
